Women in Abstract Show at Hidell Brooks Gallery
Today, I had the pleasure of running through the Hidell Brooks Gallery “Women in Abstract” show. I have been so excited about this particular show because it is many of my favorite artists. It did not disappoint. Those of you not in Charlotte deserve to see a better look at what you are missing.
Call up the lovely ladies at Hidell Brooks if you are interested in anything.
july 11 – august 30, 2014
selena beaudry, sally king benedict, page davis, chris hayman, ruth ava lyons, jenny nelson, windy o’connor, virginia scotchie, kate long stevenson, amanda talley
…even a secret back room tour while Katharine and Rebecca were helping a customer.
One of the highlights of my visit was watching a young mother purchase her first piece of “real art”. And what a piece it was! The Garraux Face by Sally King Benedict, a favorite of mine. This young lady had come to see the piece on Saturday and could not stop thinking about it. She brought her children with her in to purchase today.
That is how it should be. Buy things you love and cannot get out of your head.
