Weekend Update
We had a great weekend. It was our first weekend at home in a month. Baseball and soccer seasons have started that keeps us close to home.
Highlights include a few favorites…
Saturday am treat after a long power walk…The Flying Biscuit Cafe is great for breakfast. Their grits are a standout. Honestly, the best I have ever had and as a GRIT(girl raised in the south) I have had a LOT of grits.
You need the cookbook if you do not live near one…
I made a quick stop by an art show at a friend's house. I left with another painting I did not need but, LOVE. Now I need to rearrange my playroom to make a wall. C'est la vie.

We ventured to the movies for a night out.
The Hunger Games.. I was thrilled to see the Visual Comfort chandelier in the train scene. Design is everywhere…
The costumes are outrageous for the residents of the Capitol.
This dining room was a surprise. It was not what I had envisioned from the book…certainly cool none the less.
Peeta gazing out… Visual Comfort Chandelier in the background.
You can have it HERE.
We had a great bottle of wine after the movie at The Wine Shop at Foxcroft. It is neighborhood restaurant with a casual vibe. The food is surprisingly good every time. My highlight are always the winter salad with pears, cheese plate, house made donuts with dipping sauces….seriously sinful! DuMol is a great chardonnay if you love a rich buttery oak.
Barely Buzzed Cheese is very different and delicious. It is rubbed with espresso and lavender. My favorite of the cheese plate.
Sunday morning I snapped this shot of beautiful wisteria in the church parking lot. It was just impossible to ignore.
At Sunday night dinner, after a winning baseball game, we went around the table saying out best part of the weekend. Take the time to recognize and appreciate the simple pleasures.
Even Waffles, our marvelous mutt, tries on occasion to remind me to put down the computer.

Fun weekend and love your new artwork. We saw Hunger Games also and I had the same reaction – great sets and costumes!! I thought it was really well done and Jennifer Lawrence was perfect!
