WEEK 3: One Room Challenge Update
The One Room Challenge headed up by Calling It Home continues.
Here are WEEK 1 and WEEK 2 if you are just tuning in.
This is a semi-annual event where 20 bloggers, made up of Professional Designers, Diy’ers, and Interior Design Bloggers, transform a room from start to finish. For the next six Wednesday’s (we are at week 3), we will be giving you updates on our room progress.
Sneak Peek
This week I have tackled a few tasks. The wallpaper and paint are complete. The house is a disaster zone extraordinaire because the entire wall of books had to be emptied out.
Next up are the gallery walls, the shelf styling and the installation of pendant light. Here are my gallery wall and shelf inspirations. I hope to get it done in the next week or so.
It is important to mix items of different sizes and scales. The frames are nice to be somewhat consistent to give it a cohesive feel. I tend to like to keep the widths between the items consistent as well.
Be sure to check out the my other ORC friends updates.
See you next Wednesday with more updates.
The offer still stands….Feel free to drop by and help me purge….not my strong suit. I am a designer and a secret hoarder of things.
Headed to start boxing up books before I head to Nashville today for The Southern C Summit. I am excited to be on
THE SOUTHERN COTERIE PANEL WITH C-TEAM MEMBERS LIBBIE SUMMERS, OF SALT & STYLED, CASSIE MCCONNELL KELLEY OF WOMANISTA AND HOLLY PHILLIPS OF THE ENGLISH ROOM
For Content’s Sake!
The Southern Coterie will discuss why content may be king, but remaining true to your authentic voice and brand should rule over all. Kristin, along with Cassie, Libbie and Holly will help you understand how to be more than a content curator and teach you how to become a compelling brand. “It’s important to create relevant content, but not just for content’s sake. Everything you do should be a part of a larger brand extension, ” says Libbie Summers.
Wish me luck…

What the heck….that is amazing!! I love your wallpaper and paint. I am glad to know that my home is not the only disaster zone because of a room makeover. How impressive, but not surprising that you are on the panel for this conference. Good luck. Looking forward to the instagram pics.
