You may remember last summer I went to Newport, Rhode Island for a getaway. This summer I am doing the same.
I am so excited to share the uber chic chalet where I am planning on staying, Gilded Hotel.
This hotel is just divine in every detail and not for the faint of heart.

A Clever Twist on a Golden Age
The Locale:
Both historic and hip, Newport has long been famous for its proximity to the sea and sailing culture, as well as its old world mansions. While the quaint, quintessential charm of the town endures, Newport has also developed a vibrant restaurant, art, and music scene that allows for fun and mischief at every turn.
The Gilded Age, Reimagined:
Newport’s newest boutique hotel is a modern, irreverent take on the decadent style of the Gilded Age. Guests can revel in this homage to Newport’s rich history while enjoying all the modern splendor Gilded and this iconic destination have to offer.
The Design:
Award-winning designer Rachel Reider sought inspiration from rococo, beaux arts, and the other popular styles of the Gilded Age when designing the interiors. A modern mix of ornate mirrors, lacquered surfaces, and gold accents come together to create envelope-pushing decor unlike anything found in Newport.
Bed Knobs and Bubbles:
The property has 17 rooms and suites, perfect for soaking, sipping champagne and sleeping. Rooms have amenities desired by modern travelers, including Apple TV, USB charging stations, and iPads with local attractions pre-programmed in.
Beyond the Beds:
Whimsical takes on leisure activities of the Gilded Age will transport guests to another time. Guests can take advantage of the billiards room, complete with a black velvet and white lacquer pool table, or relax in the small, secluded courtyard with a croquet practice green. The courtyard also features a fire table and lounging spaces.
