One Room Challenge Spring 2017: Big Reveal
It finally came together!
Before you go look at the AFTER please take a minute to look at the BEFORE. It was sad and depressing. If you are just tuning in, see my progress over the past weeks with WEEK 1, WEEK 2, WEEK 3, WEEK 4, WEEK 5 and now THE BIG REVEAL!
I could not be more please with the outcome. The glossy pink ceiling casts the most beautiful glow in the room. The wallpaper makes me smile intensely. The carpet is plush and chic. The etagere houses all my treasures and favorite things. The new dresser is ample and much needed storage. The curtains are soft and soothing on a glam brass rod. The lamps are handmade perfection. The bedside tables provide lovely storage and are also and crafted on New Orleans and the drawers faces are carved from a solid piece of wood sources in the Missisippi Delta. The chairs are so fabulous in white hair on hide. And the bed… what do I say about the bed. The bed is amazing from the glamorous brass and acrylic to the the plush bedding and sheets on the amazing new mattress.
Each piece is a paragraph that comes together to tell the whole story.
This story makes me happy.
And the mess you have all been waiting to see cleaned up… This could not have happened without the guidance and help of Jennifer of Pure & Simple Carolinas. I am ready to tackle the rest of the closets soon.

I am still struggling with an abundance of jewelry that needs addressing. I have a plan that will hopefully happen and be revealed in the coming weeks.

So delicious! Seriously amazing job!

It’s a fantasy room, but I’m truly curious about your husband’s reaction to the space, as it is his as well. I’m a new reader of your blog (found via the ORC), and when I saw the reveal, I wasn’t sure if this was for a teenage girl (I sincerely hoped not, given the money and effort) or for a single woman. It’s absolutely lovely, but I’m not sure if I see where your husband fits in with it.

If I am happy, my husband is happy. He is unfazed by the pink and color. Just because I have a husband does not mean a master bedroom needs to be masculine. We have a balance throughout the house. He is in charge of all electronics hence the large wall mounted TV and I am in charge of all decorating.

I die for your closet, and that bed is the stuff dreams are made of!!!

This is a cheerful explosion of all that’s right with the world. I love how your actual clothes match the room. Now you can enjoy your hard work! xo

The stuff of dreams! Be still my color loving heart. Congrats Holly. Not sure what I love more – the ceiling, the floors, the walls, the bed. The shoe collection!!! The jewelry!!
Sarah Sofia Knepp
Holly, what a fun and colorful room that matches your personality! I love every detail from your chic Lucite and gold 4 poster bed, wallpaper, art, design books, Holly sign, to your colorful and organized closet! Jennifer with Pure and Simple Carolina is so talented in getting people organized; I still need to hire her for my closet. 🙂 Cheers on yet another amazing ORC and making this process enjoyable for us all! XOXO, Sarah

I never thought I would love a high gloss ceiling but it just works perfectly here! What a colourful and vibrant room you’ve created. It’s a great reflection of your personal style and your wardrobe works seamlessly in this space. Congrats!
Erin
What I love most is how much your bedroom is a reflection of your closet! Bold, colorful and over-the-top fun! A place that you can’t be anything but happy. Well done!

Sexy bedroom and dramatic closet. Love it! The Chanel quote made me laugh. My own late mother used to say, “Men are just little boys in long pants!”
My favorite thing is that pink ceiling.
Nicole Q-Schmitz
Holy colour and that glossy ceiling makes the space! Your gallery wall around the TV turned out wonderfully, love the different layers 🙂
Linda | Calling it Home
Wow, you always bring it big with color. Love the glossy ceiling with the lucite bed. All of this is really an incredible mix of pattern and texture. I am impressed on how you were able to whip your closet into a beautiful boutique. Great!

Love how your makeover came out! The carpet and wallpaper are to die for!
Do you have a source for the VW Beetle basket purse on the etegere? I did look through the source list but could not find a listing for any of the shaped basket purses. Maybe they are something you have collected over the years but if you have some suggestions for where to look I would appreciate it! Thanks.

It is Kate Spade from years ago… Maybe try Ebay. Thank you for stopping by!

I am absolutely in love! I tend to be afraid of mixing patterns and you have totally inspired me!! I love how this room tells a story and conveys the personality and spirit of the woman who inhabits it! You did such a fabulous job! Congratulations!!

Visiting as a guest participant from callingithome.com. I am so loving that feature wall! There’s eye candy everywhere in this room- even in the closet!
