One Room Challenge Spring 2017: Week 2
This challenge is FLYING! I have SO MUCH to do…namely organizing, decorating, planning and plotting…
Thankfully, I have called in the big guns to help with that next week and beyond. I vow to change my messy ways. I hired Jennifer of Pure & Simple Organizing to help take the task and teach me the err of my ways. Pray for her.
I am happy to show you the plan for that I am proud and quite excited.
Stay tuned for progress below… it is a harder exercise. If you follow me on Instagram you saw my miserable cleaning Sunday.
The plan…
Master Bedroom:
Floral Fantasy Wallpaper for the Bed Wall by Hapi Art – Luxurious, vibrant wallpaper created with original artwork by Kristi Kohut. This paper started the color palette of “millennial pink” balanced with bolder pink and color.
Heavenly Palette Pillow by Hapi Art– I had to have these for the bed as well. The Linen and bold color reflect my love of color and original art. Kristi is a master of color like no other! “Whimsical and bold patterned fabric created from original artwork by Kristi Kohut. This pillow makes a statement and will add a vibrant touch of color to your home! Printed on luxurious Belgian fabric with signature felt crest patch and antique brass zipper.”
Aiden Acrylic Canopy Upholstered Bed by Bernhardt – I have had my heart set on this bed from the moment I saw it at Bernhardt during High Point Market. It is the epitome of all the things I adore. Brass, Velvet and acrylic…YUM! I grew up with a canopy bed and always sleep happy in one. Bernhardt makes quality furniture that will last a lifetime and beyond. This is my forever bed that I hope to pass down in the future.
Soho Luxe Mirror Dresser by Bernhardt – I thought this was the perfect compliment to the bed and I have long been in need of much more storage. Mirrored and polished glass is a bit glam and a lot gorgeous. I cannot wait for this beauty.
Elka Chairs from Bernhardt– These are another item that I have coveted for ages. These faux horn chairs are covered in cream hair on hide that are sexy and sumptuous. They sit like a dream and are a welcome change from the club chair often found in its place. I dare to be different.
Ceiling Paint Nancy’s Blushes by Farrow & Ball – Nancy’s Blushes is the truest pink in the Farrow & Ball family. I thought I would go mild on the ceiling but I could resist the name (my mother, myself and my daughter are all Nancy) or the hue.
Savanna Scenes Snow Leopard by Karastan – Heed the “call of the wild” at Karastan and discover your true decorating nature with this exotic Snow Leopard pattern. Its soft gray coloration is an easy fit in today’s modern color schemes. It is truly a neutral that easily camouflages a busy life with pets and kids.
Elegent Étegere from Wisteria – This is my favorite etagere on the market. I use this for clients often. The size and scale are BIG. It is elegantly gilded and superbly designed. I need that because I have too much stuff! Wisteria is an amazing source for so many decorative items at a great price.
Marbelized Bunny Williams Table Lamp from ATG Stores– Noone does it like Bunny! Another coveted item that I couldn’t wait to put in my house. It is classic yet modern chic. This elongated oval ceramic lamp is hand-glazed in a delicate off-white background and showcases hand-painted black marbleized patterns.
Thalia End Tables from Doorman Designs – The Thalia end table and nightstand collection is a stunning design with hand carved details. Made from Southern hardwood, each one is crafted by hand in the New Orleans workshop and finished in a black ebony or cream white color with brass hardware. I chose black. These are perfect because they are big enough and have drawers but yet leave a little space for mags too. I love they are handmade in NOLA with lots of love.
Tailored Pleat Drapes in Linen with Contrast 4″ Band from The Shade Store – Featuring a sleek waterfall pleat, this drapery hangs beautifully and is meticulously handcrafted to ensure lasting look and functionality. I want with a neutral beautiful linen that will stand the test of time with a soft cameo band for a slight contrast. They will be on beautiful brass rods and have blackout lining for lots of good sleep! I love the Shade Store because they make it so easy to to order curtains.
Confetti Sheets & Duvet Cover in Fuchsia / Coral from Annie Selke’s Pine Cone Hill: Bright coral and fuchsia squares in a sprinkled confetti pattern add a colorful twist to these soft sheets and Duvet. I am a sucker for patterned sheets mixed with white of course.
Diamond White Mattelassé Coverlet & Shams from Annie Selke’s Pine Cone Hill – I am always a fan of a matelasse. They provide weight and a tailored structure to a bed. I like a tidy bed that looks tight.
Selke Fleece Blanket in White via Annie Selke’s Pine Cone Hill – “We took our classic, cozy fleece and upped the snuggle quotient with a microfiber knitting and polishing technique. It’s the silkiest, drapiest fleece blanket you’ll ever try, in bright white. Go ahead–get cozy! ” I have heard RAVE reviews about this from a client. I had to get in on the action. Cannot wait to snuggle in this beauty.
Beachwood Gold Leaf Tree Branch Tray Table Floor Lamp from Lamps Plus- I adore the gold combined with the natural element. The glass table on it also helps with the space constraints.
Mattress: I am going with the highly recommended Leesa Mattress. This will be our first foray into a memory foam mattress. More to come about this mattress soon but, I am intrigued.
“Designed from the inside out with a universal adaptive feel to provide the cooling, contouring and core support everybody needs to sleep better.”
We have high hopes in replacing our sad, droopy 18 year old mattress. Backs are hurting…
Closet:
Drake Acrylic Fixture from Crystorama – I am thrilled to replace that wreched cloud fixture with something as chic as this lantern polished nickel and acrylic. My closet deserves better and this stunner is classic and bright while being a ceiling mount which is hard to find.
Cordonne Ikeya-seki Rosa wallpaper from NewWall – Ceiling Wallpaper in perfect pink with a fun dash of more color. I love all the international brands that NewWall makes available to all. Be sure to check them out.
“Love” Neon Sign via ATG Stores – Make a statement with bright neon lighting from The Oliver Gal Artist Co. These hand-crafted signs are sure to attract attention with chic sayings and iconic shapes. I have always wanted a neon and here is the chance.
Modern Chest from All Modern – I am still in decision mode. They have way too many great choices. I love the Loren for the classic campaign style but this works better for more storage and the space.

Wow, it all looks so glam and gorgeous!

I adore all the prints from Kristi Kohut! I’m using her stuff for pillows and two large framed prints in my room. And for someone who doesn’t really like color (that’s me)- I am so in love with her use of color!!
