Dress to Room Pairings: The Met Gala 2016
It is the big night of the MET GALA 2016: Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology.
This year it will be hosted by cochairs Idris Elba, Jonathan Ive, Taylor Swift, and Anna Wintour.
Nicolas Ghesquière, Karl Lagerfeld, and Miuccia Prada will serve as honorary chairs, and the gala and accompanying exhibition will be sponsored by Apple.
Vogue.com has you covered with all the divine details and a dedicated page…
The Met Gala, formally called the Costume Institute Gala and also known as the Met Ball, is an annual fundraising gala for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art‘s Costume Institute in New York City. It marks the grand opening of the Costume Institute’s annual fashion exhibit. Each year’s event celebrates the theme of that year’s Costume Institute exhibition, and the exhibition sets the tone for the formal dress of the night since guests are expected to choose their fashion to match the theme of the exhibit. Each year the event also has honorary celebrity event day chairpersons.
I love this fashion Super Bowl of an evening and I really love pairing with a interior. Fashion is so inspiring to me. I absolutely cannot wait to see The First Monday in May, a documentary spawned from the cult following of this event. Watch the trailer.
Enjoy my 2016 Pairings.

The theme for the 2016 Met Gala, “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology, ” was intended to celebrate haute couture while also appreciating the role technology has played in moving fashion forward.
Perhaps no dress better represented that theme on Monday night than designer Zac Posen’s gown for Claire Danes.
But it turns out, the dress had another trick planned. It was fully illuminated.
The lights didn’t show on the carpet, but Posen posted images of the dress illuminated on Instagram.
