Carleton Varney for Frontgate
When the Frontgate Catalog showed up in my mailbox earlier this week, I was stopped in my tracks upon seeing the new Carleton Varney Collection. The fantabulous fretwork chairs and the tall wingback chairs are sure to be cult classics of the future. They scream Palm Beach and all things chic.
It is finally time to think about getting your porches and outdoor spaces in order and refreshed to enjoy this lovely spring and summer weather. These beauties will do just that.
I have long been a fan of designer Carleton Varney and even went to college with his sons. Nick is a very talented jewelry designer. See Nicholas Varney Jewels. The creativity gene runs deep in this family.
This collection of outdoor furniture is unlike anything else on the market. The fabric selections as well or to die for. I am particularly fond of the Palm frond design.
Carleton Varney is one of the best known, most accomplished interior designers in the country. He has decorated landmark buildings like the Plaza Hotel in New York and the renowned Greenbrier Resort, and consulted on several functions at the White House, while superstars of film, fashion and finance have hired him to give their homes his inimitable style.
Varney’s approach is anything but drab. He rejects “vanilla decorating” and opts instead for bold contrast, vibrant colors and theatrical flair. He encourages his clients to be adventurous and regain the “freedom of being a child with the paint box.” Twenty-six books bear his name along with lines of furniture, fabric, wallpaper, paint, carpeting, dinnerware and apparel.
In the three furniture assortments, pieces range from a bistro table to deep seating to traditional dining, offering different styling within the thematic whole of Mr. Varney’s trademark look. The Hillandale Rose collection presents whimsy in a unique bistro table, Ibis Isle gives a fashion- forward take on Chippendale design, and Giverny updates traditional neoclassic motifs.
I have chosen my favorites with the Ibis Isle Seating and Dining.
The Caning Dinnerware is a sure winner.
I am certainly willing to spend an afternoon daydreaming in the lovely Giverny Daybed.
The Giverny Seating is classic. It is also available in Giverny Dining.
The Giverny Bench would be sweet in a garden.
The Hampshire Umbrella transports me straight to the Greenbrier.
The Hillandale Rose Dining Table and Chairs in signature green…
Oh to have this dining set…Ibis Isle Dining.
The Ibis Isle Seating collection is a Dorothy Drape dream!
Do not miss the loads of accessories too.
I am coveting the Ibis Isle covered in this… Divine right?
