Book Review: Patina Farm
If I were to buy only one book this spring, it would have to be Patina Farm.
This book is a true beauty reflective of exquisite taste and a well lived life.
It is a visual diary of the farm and estate in Ojai, California of husband & wife team, Brooke & Steve Giannetti.
Those who know me, know I love animals likely more than people. I have the feeling the Giannetti’s feel the same way.
If you remember the show Green Acres from long ago and the opening song…That is how feel about life. I am a city slicker to actually needs to be in the country. I often think “Green Acres is the place to be, farm livin’ is the life for me.” I digress, the Giannetti’s did just that. They left Santa Monica for the farm life in Ojai. It is not just any farm but an exquisitely executed estate filled with life and immense beauty.
“They looked into themselves, and traveled to Belgium and France, for inspiration. Brooke’s inviting prose combines with 200 photographs and Steve’s architectural drawings to show their inspirations, their materials selections, and the enviable result of their team effort and creativity: an idyllic farm in California’s Ojai Valley. We see every corner of the family home, guesthouse, lush gardens, and delightful animal quarters.”
“Steve Giannetti is a renowned architect, and Brooke is an interior decorator and writer of the design blog Velvet and Linen. They also own Giannetti Home, a store that sells furniture and products for the home in their signature Patina style. The couple’s work has been featured in the Veranda, Coastal Living, Good Housekeeping, the New York Times. They are the authors of Patina Style.”
A look at the perfection of Patina Farm…
A few peeks at farm life from the Velvet & Linen blog that is as visually stunning as it is beautifully penned.
Again, I highly recommend adding this book to your design library. Each detail is so perfectly designed. Who would have thought of this shower inside yet outside.
