My book stacks are overflowing!

I just realized I may have not even shared all my recent acquisitions.

They all happen to be Rizzoli publications from various design genres from interiors to flowers to entertaining. They are all gems worth a spot in your library.

Suzanne Rheinstein: A Welcoming Elegance

Over the past decade, celebrated style maker Suzanne Rheinstein has achieved an unprecedented level of refinement and clarity. Her love of objects from the past remains a touchstone, but in her newest rooms, stylish modernity and an elegant simplicity hold sway.

Presented are beautifully photographed homes of clients Suzanne Rheinstein has worked with before that reflect a vision of richness tempered by restraint. Her longtime fans will find new inspiration in these pages. Throughout, she shares her ideas of how to live in a relaxed way surrounded by artworks and personal collections. A traditional Georgian library is done in a totally untraditional lacquered green, while a San Francisco town house revamp includes a “California” room filled with Moroccan rugs and rattan chairs, and a serene retreat has a guesthouse evocative of the bohemian 1970s.

He illustrates the mixing of exotic and playful patterns and discusses how quality antique pieces can add character to a room. This stunning aspirational book will appeal to both design insiders as well as those with an appreciation for beautiful interiors.

The Ultimate Bath

From the cofounder of Waterworks comes a beautifully curated collection of dream bathrooms designed by today’s top architects and interior designers, from Commune to Suzanne Kasler.

In The Perfect Bath and The Perfect Kitchen, Barbara Sallick walked readers through the creation of stylish, functional spaces. With the renewed emphasis on the importance of home, her new book takes bath design a step further. The Ultimate Bath devotes its elegantly illustrated chapters to the most luxuriously designed bathrooms from a wide-ranging list of contributors, including Gil Schafer, Nickey Kehoe, Brigette Romanek, and Miles Redd. These are baths that, while grounded in timeless elements, surprise and enchant. There are grand baths of high style with elegant mirrored and marble surfaces. There are bold rooms of rich maximalist pattern and color. There are strictly tailored spaces of great restraint and serenity. And finally, there are baths with restorative views to the garden or forest—or in the middle of nature themselves.

Gathered together, these spaces seduce, delight, and serve as a visual blueprint for readers looking to create rest, refuge, and beauty at home. The end result is a book that celebrates the unexpected and inspires readers to bring a magical quality to their own baths, no matter how modest or grand.

The interior design of this New England seaside escape—by decorating legend Nina Campbell—explores a myriad of themes: the evolution of a home, the importance of place, and the creation of an oasis amid a bustling world.

The interiors of this glorious retreat’s many buildings are given the Nina Campbell treatment with vibrant palettes, sumptuous fabrics, fine antiques, and a contemporary clarity. Constructed at the turn of the last century, the core of the main house is a simple cottage overlooking a secluded cove. The pioneering couple who built it had no idea that they were creating a legacy that would become central to the lives of future generations of their family, who use the place as a retreat from busy lives in the city.

The main house evolved from that summer cottage to a larger Federal-style manse—whose recent reinvention was overseen by New York architects Ferguson & Shamamian—in a landscape with outlets for indoor and outdoor bliss. Campbell is familiar with creating backdrops for entertaining—she had previously designed Annabel’s, the renowned private members’ club in London. With a dedicated party villa, bowling alley, pool house, and tennis pavilion as well as accommodations for family and friends, the property established itself as a place for fun and relaxation. Under the spreading branches of the tree that offered shade to the original house and garden, the place has become an oasis of peace and calm away from the din of the outside world.

Jonathan Rachman’s instantly classic designs come to life in vibrant and sumptuous color in this first monograph on the Sumatran-born, San Francisco–based interior decorator.

Bring beauty in the form of nature into your home and your lifestyle, no matter where you live, through artful floral arrangements, as well as indoor and outdoor flowering plants.

The Artistry of Flowers encourages everyone to live with florals and to appreciate their beauty as we appreciate art. Celebrated floral designer Gabriela Salazar teaches us how to look at flowers and understand their characteristics from an artist’s perspective. By exploring different shapes, colors, and textures, she shows us how to understand flowers and their living, transitory nature.

Drawing on her painting background, Salazar looks at floral arrangements as compositions. She highlights which type of blooms are best for different designs and shares building blocks for floral designs ranging from simple and sculptural to complex and colorful, including arrangements for any mood and different decor. Salazar inspires us to explore our creativity, empowering us to design our own arrangements.

Combining philosophical and practical tips, such as appreciating how flowers change over time and working with fragility The Artistry of Flowers is a treatise on flower appreciation. The stunning photography by Ngoc Minh Ngo—known for Rizzoli books such as In Bloom and Eden Revisited—complements Salazar’s enthusiastic instruction.

At the Table of La Fortezza: The Enchantment of Tuscan Cooking from the Lunigiana Region

Annette Joseph shares recipes from the charming Lunigiana region of Tuscany that were developed at her medieval fortress, La Fortezza. This is the first book on the cuisine of this important slow-food area.

Lunigiana is a rugged, mountainous region of Tuscany, flanked by the Liguria coastline and Emilia-Romagna, whose cuisine has been shaped by its distinctive landscape and location. Author and stylist Annette Joseph purchased and renovated a stunning medieval fortress, aptly named La Fortezza (“The Fortress”), in this little-known area. Enamored by Lunigiana’s rich food heritage and traditions, Joseph sought out authentic and traditional dishes from the best chefs, home cooks, and slow-food purveyors in the region. This book showcases these rustic recipes, some of which have been enjoyed for centuries.

Lunigiana’s cuisine brings together the flavors of both the coast and the mountains and draws inspiration from the neighboring regions. It is home to unique ingredients, such as chestnut flour, and its specialties are often still prepared the ancient way. Lunigiana is also recognized by UNESCO as a sustainable region, and Joseph’s recipes highlight slow-food practices, such as sourcing seasonal ingredients from local producers.

Breathtaking photographs by David Loftus highlight the beauty of Lunigiana’s cuisine and countryside, as well as La Fortezza’s dreamy vineyard, orchards, and kitchen garden. This book is an incredible culinary and visual journey into an undiscovered region in Italy and a must-have for anyone who loves Italian food and culture.
