 What is your training?

I graduated from the Maryland Institute, College of Art. I majored in painting and minored in interior design. After school I went into fundraising for the United Way of Central Maryland. I dabbled into painting throughout the years but really got into it when my three children were in school full time. BTW, my husband of 23 years and children are my biggest fans. They actually help me name my pieces. They always have the best ideas and imagination! 

 

What inspires you and your art?

 

I am inspired by everything..beautiful landscapes, interiors, fashion designs and anything colorful! Light and color play a big part in my work!

What is your favorite restaurant in (your city)?

 

My favorite restaurant in Baltimore is the Ambassador Dining Room, it is a wonderful Indian restaurant located in midtown of Baltimore. The setting is in a old building that overlooks a beautiful old water fountain that is surrounded by an old boxwood garden. The owners are wonderful friends and always are so gracious to us. 

 

What is your favorite cocktail?

 

Favorite cocktail would be a grey goose vodka and soda with a big wedge of lime. In the summer a splash of fruit juice is always nice too! 

 

Dream trip?

My dream would be to go to the Amalfi Coast one day. I love beautiful views and delish food..I think I might see quite a bit of inspiration there!

 

Dream commission?

 

A dream commission for me would be to do a very large piece for a large wall. Maybe 8 x 11..think that would be so great and make such an impact in a space. Working on making that happen. 🙂

 

Your favorite hostess gift?

 

Favorite hostess gift would be peonies or a wonderful smelling candle! 

 

Who is your style icon?

I love simple style icons like Jackie O, Audrey Hepburn, and Jennifer Aniston. 

 

Your favorite up and coming artist?

One of my favorite artists is Sally Benedict. I love how she switches up her styles and keeps it always fresh. Love her pieces!

 

What is your most treasured possession?

 

Favorite possession would be my entire family. My parents and siblings all live within a 5 mile radius to us…that is the best!

 

What are you reading?

 

I wish I could say I was reading something fabulous but I love my blogs and magazines! Not a lot of time for books..remember three kids! 🙂 

 

What are you listening to?

 

We love country music! Just listen and the stories that are being told in a song always gets me.
