Artist Spotlight Series: Alison Knott
I am excited to introduce you to the perfect artist for the week.
I am drawn to the dramatic cranium collage works of this New York artist especially this week of Halloween. Be sure to check out her full portfolio as well.
Brooklyn, NY
What is your training?
I received a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design

Things I see and collect from traveling and life experiences, magazines, fashion, irony

Peter Paul Rubens “The Tiger and Lion Hunt“
How has you area influenced your work?
New York is such a melting pot. The streets offer an overload of information which my works helps me process. The fast paced life forces you to make quick decisions which I am not always good at making. The energy of the city and it’s diversity makes for more layered work.
What is your favorite restaurant in your city?
What is your favorite cocktail?
I don’t drink cocktails. Champagne there is always a reason to celebrate!
How do you balance work and your personal life?
I try to keep things simple and organized in my life (it helps having an architect husband). I moved my studio into my apartment after my son was born to avoid commuting to the studio. Time for each is the biggest juggle. You have to know when your work needs more time and when your family needs more time.
Dream Trip?
Dream Commission?
A ceiling painting

Deserts from a local French Patisserie “Almondine” in DUMBO, BK

and Dan Shaw-Town
