Artist Spotlight Series: Adehla Lee
I came across the work of this weeks Artist Spotlight Series feature on Instagram. Adehla immediately captured my attention with her pretty pastels and cotton candy colors with bold graphic imagery. I always break for a skull. The art is so clearly influenced by her Eastern heritage. I am smitten!
Brooklyn, New York
What is your training?
I did my MFA at the School of Visual Arts in NYC from 2009 to 2011. Before that I lived in South Korea.
What inspires you and your designs?
My inspiration is “Life and Death” in a spiritual way and “Color vibration” in a visual way.
My work is combination of both.

Since I do painting and installation, I picked one of each.
-Back to Heaven / 30″ x 24″ / Acrylic on Canvas / 2014
This painting is for my beloved grandmother who passed away about 3 months ago near last Thanksgiving.
Since I love her so much, this painting means a lot to me.
