A Dries Van Noten Dream
Tonight I had the pleasure of attending the screening of the Dries documentary based on fashion designer Dries Van Noten at Wing Haven Gardens hosted by Capitol. It was a magical evening under the stars filled with couture, cocktails and culture. I left inspired and as ever fascinated by the creative process that runs through all artists, fashion designers, and interior designers alike. I was struck by the desire to surround your life with beauty and inspiration. The textiles alone were worth watching!
Gardens more and more have spoken to me (yet I am cursed with a BLACK thumb) recently with Katie Ridder and Christopher Spitzmiller‘s homes in Millbrook, NY to the many gardens I experienced in Italy. It all nods to the beauty of nature as the ultimate inspiration.

Look Inside Dries Van Noten’s Paradise-Like Garden
The estate’s original plantings have been enhanced to suggest a whimsically overgrown woodland that frames both the lake and the 1840s Neoclassical mansion.
A repurposed length of Mantero silk brocade dresses the dining-room table.
This restored gazebo provides a tranquil sanctuary for Dries Van Noten.
Belgian expressionist Léon de Smet’s Nude and Bouquet (1922) greets visitors in the ornate oak entryway.
In the Red Salon, the original 1920s Franck paneling is hung with custom Lyonnaise silk.
