One Room Challenge Fall 2016: Kickoff
I am thrilled to be participating in the One Room Challenge again this fall!
One Room Challenge for those not in the know, is a semi-annual event where 20 bloggers, made up of Professional Designers, Diy’ers, and Interior Design Bloggers, transform a room from start to finish hosted by Linda of Calling it Home.
For this One Room Challenge I will be renovating my office. Well, it is actually my mother’s office. She has retired and I’m moving into her office and my project manager is moving into my office. We moved into the space 1999 and little has been done since then. The plaster is cracking on the ceiling. The carpet is tired. The paint is beige and dingy. It just needs a major update. The office has become a storage space and catchall. It needs cleaning and refreshing.
I have just the plan in mind.
I want the space to be light, bright, happy and reflective of my design personality. It will be filled with art, color and layers of pattern.
The large brown partners desk that was my grandfather’s has already gone to my brother’s office. I plan on reusing my desk. It is a fabulous vintage piece seem below in my Scout Guide ad from a few years ago.
BEFORE pictures:
Do you think I can turn this sad space into an inspiring work space in 6 short weeks?
We shall see.
If all falls into place It should be a great space to work, be inspired, and meet with clients.

So excited to be joining such great talent as a guest participant and to follow everyone’s transformations! I don’t know how I’ll get anything done today – all I want to do is read through everyone’s ORC!! We’re in the middle of renovating a 1930 bungalow that was previously abandoned for 20 years, so essentially I’m renovating all the rooms simultaneously, but for sanity’s sake only documenting the living room for the ORC.
Your space has so much potential, I can’t wait to see what you do with it and the creative solutions you come up with! I’m also transforming my living room, and I’m excited to see so many others doing the same this round!
Calling it Home
Don’t even get me started on the elephant. desk. We did not know each other, but I almost had one for myself. I will be dying over this, for sure. Can’t wait.
