Artist Spotlight Series: Stephanie Ho
I am completely mesmerized by the mysterious crowd series’ in my latest Artist Spotlight Series feature of talented artist

What is your training?
I did my first degree at the London School of Economics.
I went on to study Fine Art at the City and Guilds of London Art School and Art History at Christies Education. I turned full-time artist after completing a Master Degree in Museum and Gallery Management at London City University in 2007.
What inspires you and your designs?
The silhouette of the human figures and crowds inspired my paintings.
What is your favorite piece?
Linked In is my favourite piece. It was sold to a Russian collector a year ago.
How has your area influenced your work?
London is a busy metropolitan city. The human activities here fascinate me. There are crowds everywhere.
What is your favorite restaurant in London?
My favourite restaurant in London is Galvin at Windows. You can get the best view of the city there.
What is your favorite cocktail?
I am teetotal, but my favourite drink is an elderflower cordial with sparkling water and fresh mint.
How do you balance personal life and work?
It’s definitely not easy to juggle jobs as an artist, mother and wife.
I do on average 5 hours of “intensive” painting a day. I always cook dinner and spend time with my family in the evening and at weekends.
Dream trip?
A ski holiday in the Alp where I can take a lot of photographs as materials for my Frozen Planet series.
Dream commission?
My dream commission is to make a ginormous painting of my Human Planet series.
Your favorite host / hostess gift to give?
A pot of beautiful orchid accompanied by a notecard of my painting.
Who is your style icon?
Audrey Hepburn, her style is timeless.
Your favourite up and coming artist?
I like the works by Pure Evil
What is your most treasured possession?
My most treasured possession has to be my 20 month old boy Christian. I cannot start my day without seeing his beautiful smile.
What are you reading?
The Railway Man by Eric Lomax. I have also seen the movie, it’s a very powerful and touching story.
What are you listening to?
My favourite songs at the moment are Upton Funk by Mark Ronson
and Take Me To Church by Hozier, it gives me goosebumps every time I listen to it.
What are your favorite blogs / publications?
I love reading Wallpaper
and Grazia magazine.
