Artist Spotlight Series: Mette Lindberg
Beauty transcends language barriers and oceans. The work of Mette Lindberg is just than. Enveloping in color and etherial at the same time, vibrant and bold yet soothing. Something about her abstract pieces captured may attention and could not be forgotten despite the distance. I reached out and Mette did her best to complete my interview (wonderfully I might add). Enjoy her work and do not hesitate to contact her if you are interested in her work. She can communicate in English via email… Fed Ex a painting over the pond.

What is your training?
I am an autodidact artist, I guess you call it. Self taught from thousands of hours in front of the canvas. I have a bachelor degree in Marketing and management communication and a master in journalism.
What inspires you and your designs?
Everything from colour combinations in fashion, art and magazines to form and figures that I notice in daily life.
What is your favorite piece?
It is very difficult to choose a favorite pic from all my paintings, but right no I really love these two.
How has the your area influenced your work?
Actually not that much. I live in a town call Silkeborg close to the second largest city in Denmark, Aarhus. Depsite of the fact, that we have a lot of art here in Silkeborg, this hasn’t influenced me that much. If I should mention one thing that influences my “mojo”, it must be the beautiful nature around here.
What is your favorite cocktail?
How do you balance personal life and work?
I have not given much thougt to that actually. Maybe because there is a great balance now. I do not have children yet, so I’m pretty free to do exactly what I want.
Dream trip?
The Maldives. Or around Europe in an autocamper.
Dream commission?
To decorate a larger institution with my painting. Maybe a hotel.
Your favorite host / hostess gift to give?
One of my painting – or at least something homemade.
What are you reading?
I like all kinds of biographies.
What are you listening to?
Everything from pop, rock and classics.
What are your favorite blogs / publications?
I really love all kinds of interior blogs which we have a lot of here i Denmark. No one mentioned – no one forgotten! They really inspire me when I paint.
