Kips Bay Decorator Show House 2014
This week on a whirlwind trip to NYC, I had the pleasure of visiting my favorite annual show house.
Kips Bay never disappoints…
Each year, celebrated interior designers transform a luxury Manhattan home into an elegant exhibition of fine furnishings, art and technology. This all began in 1973 when several dedicated supporters of the Kips Bay Boys and Girls Club launched the Kips Bay Decorator Show House to raise critical funds for much needed after school and enrichment programs for New York City children. Over the course of four decades, this project has grown into a must-see event for thousands of design enthusiasts and is renowned for sparking interior design trends throughout the world.

What are your favorites?
I LOVED Alexa Hampton’s hip but classic room with it’s moroccan influence. The Carrier and Co room was a treat too. That Natasha Law had me swooning!
NOTED TRENDS:
Gold and Brass galore
rich teal to cerulean blues
oversized abstract art and modern photography
As usual the pictures never do it justice!
Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.

I also loved the pendants in the kitchen! (I was there today.) Other favorites…Markham Roberts’ teal room with the white Moorish style mirrors and the mix in Darryl Carter’s beautiful room. I didn’t make the trip to the city just to see it, but it would have been worth it if I had.
All best,
Phyllis
