One of my very favorite finds from High Point Market this spring was Taylor Burke Home.   I am crazy about their creative and whimsical designs. Wanna know what is even better?  It is a North Carolina company owned by some fab hometown girls. Gotta LOVE that. They are wonderful to work with and welcome designer inquiries.

Taylor Burke Home is a boutique furniture company proudly designing and manufacturing their upholstery and accent pieces in the USA. Founded by sisters Julianne Taylor and Lauren Burke, these native Carolinians travel the world for inspiration for their designs. With a focus on producing high quality furniture with a strong design aesthetic, these ladies don’t lose sight of the need to guard the planet’s resources. Taylor Burke Home is proud to support our local economy. We have worked hard to source eco-friendly manufacturers in the USA, and our 2013 collection is proudly made by local craftsmen in the Southeastern United States. All of our pieces are made with sustainable, recycled, or recyclable materials. The lumber we use comes from sustainable forests in the Northeast United States, and our springs are made from 95% recycled steel. Our cushions are made from soy and other renewable products, and all of the cotton used for padding is either from recycled materials or is recyclable itself.

American craftsmanship continues to thrive in the foothills of North Carolina, and we are proud to work closely with these local artisans to design our custom metal finishes, reclaimed wood table tops, and specialty mirrored finishes that are showcased in our 2013 collection. Some say it’s too costly to manufacture furniture in the US, but we beg to differ. Our quality and attention to detail is unmatched overseas, and our furniture is built to last a lifetime.

Finding rare and special treasures from our travels to exotic locations is still a passion of ours, and you will continue to see our special finds offered from our buying trips overseas. But when it comes to the manufacture of our upholstery and accent pieces, we strongly believe in supporting our local economy and our planet.
